Getting a dog used to wearing boots is a process. It is very normal to see an amusing high-step in the beginning. This is because they can’t feel the floor and it throws off their coordination, they need time to re-coordinate themselves. It may even take getting them outside and on with the walk before they start to realize that they can in fact walk & run as usual.
I really wanted to like these shoes, but they didn’t work for my Maltese. They’re very difficult to get onto his feet, yet once they’re on, they slip off easily while he’s walking. The Velcro also catches on his long fur, making the shoes frustrating to remove. I ordered the recommended size based on the sizing guide, but the fit just wasn’t right. They seem like a great concept, but I wouldn’t recommend them for small, long-haired dogs like Maltese.
Our little foster senior puppy loves going on walks and we got her these because we love where the asphalt gets so hot. This was her first day and so easy to put on her. She’s 7lbs and we got her an XXS.
8 pounds mini/toy Goldendoodle; XXS fits him perfectly! Stays on!! Super easy to put on! So glad I got these on a good price! Though after trying 2 different of dog shoes I will say the regular price is worth it!
Our almost 4 month old goldendoodle, Moby loves his shoes and so do we! We wanted to get our little guy shoes to protect his paws from the hot summer pavement and any sharp objects during our walks. We've tried many other brands of shoes for him, but nothing seemed to work right. At first, we couldn't justify the higher price tag for WagWellies, but glad we gave it a go. Not only are they easy to slide on his little paws, but all four shoes stayed on! Our dog took to his new shoes right away and seem to be very comfortable wearing them.
Love these shoes. If you are thinking about getting these, just do it you will not regret it. They are easy to put on, they stay on and we get compliments everywhere we go. My boy is wearing XXL.
There is a slight adjustment period, but your dog will adjust very quickly! The attached video is from the first use.
Now we use Wagwellies in the rain, snow and the super hot days. I get a lot of compliments every time my dog goes out in them!
Love how they are super secure.
These are best for warm and hot weather. I was looking for shoes that had circulation since my dog is double coated. It takes me 2 minutes or less to put them and saves me 10 minutes from cleaning each paw. He looks great, and receives so many compliments on his shoes. I like to mix and match the colors for fun. He is a 90 lb Old English Sheepdog wearing XXL.
Game changer! These actually stay on our dogs paws when we go for walks. It helps keep the snow and salt out of their paws, but the holes do allow for some snow to get in.
Looking forward to trying these this summer for the hot pavement!
I love these they don’t fall off like most dog booties they stay on until you take them on and I LOVE that it fits around my dog’s dew claws hence doesn’t rub and irritate them dewclaws. As I have had that issue in the past with dog booties with them dewclaws. I can’t recommend these booties highly enough. They are the best booties ever.
This photo was taken on Penelope’s first walk with shoes. Her walk was very clumsy at first, but she learned how to walk in them after three or four tries. Now that it’s winter, I’m so glad she understands the concept of wearing shoes. Im about to buy another pair for her winter outfit!
Have thought about ordering Wagwellies for a long time. I finally did it, and glad I did. Darby has worn boots since he was a puppy, so he adjusted to these very quickly. Being these were a different material he did take a few "high steps" at first. He is a 30 lbs Mini Bernedoodle and the size small fit perfectly. Very easy to get on, they stay on well and don't seem to bother him even though they have more structure than his other boots. What color will be next??
Milo my standard poodle looks so handsome in his orange shoes. He walks comfortably and always gets compliments anywhere we go . His medium orange faves are sold out and we would like to get another pair. We have the yellow and will look for another fun color in the mean time ❤️
Jinx loves his new shoes. He is 15 with arthritis and has a hard time walking on our hard wood floors and not sliding everywhere. His new shoes are a game changer. Not only does he not slide, he walks with confidence knowing he doesn't have to struggle anymore.
Bailey is a therapy dog and goes to the hospitals. Every time he wears his shoes people smile and take his picture. It is good to see nurses doctors patients and visitors that are happy. Your shoes are a hit. We need more positivity in our community
I am happy to have an orange pair , but wish the color was the same as the previous ones. I’m thinking the manufacturer changed.the shoes are still the same high quality, just a shade paler in color.
I am not sure they are not too big but with Ryder only being 16mths I feel like he will still grow some. Plus his foot is wider when his weight is standing up.
The best shoes ever! The only shoes that stay on and protect my girls pads. My Doberman, Lena absolutely loves them and quickly got over the "strange" weight added to her feet. In fact, she is so proud of them and flaunts them and parades around hoping someone will see her beautiful new shoes. Fashion meets function
she looks like a lil penguin! but the real review is that these don’t slip off and stay on much better than most dog booties. i like the durable material and feel. i got an XL which i thought would be too big but considering my dog’s claws they fit perfectly and she doesn’t look cramp or too uncomfortable in them. we have walked up and down the stairs in our house. on carpet and tile and she is all good. she can do things like jump on couches and beds with them on so it’s safe to save she doesn’t feel held back. she feels confident walking on rocks/gravel and we will try normal sidewalk pavement soon.
We love these booties!
The evil of tribulus terrestris (more commonly known as puncture vine, goatheads, or OwOwOwIHateTheseThings!) has been defeated by four neon boots! I did have to rearrange two notes that partially fell off on our first three-mile hike. BUT they stayed attached to Jett's leg so I could resecure them instead of completely being left along the way. Not the boots' fault--I didn't have them tightened down far enough. No hotspots after the trip either.
In short: it took about two minutes for her to get used to them and we could walk without worrying about hot ground or those evil tribbles!
I got these booties as Sneakers for my dog when we play in the street. We tried Ruff wear and the Arcadia ones- and while they have rubber bottoms the canvas tops got torn by claws/nails. Without booties we can’t run in mixed direction on pavement. Without booties we usually just take walks or go jogging on a straight direction. Without booties my dogs pads would be all cut up when we play in the street/driveway with the kids. (Our street is empty). But I got these wagwellies and they are staying on with the first play session. Maybe the front tongue flap comes undone from under the Velcro (suggestion to add a Velcro to the front as well as back, wagwellies). But the paw pads look fine.
I did have to buy a second size since the Medium was quite tight on my female smaller weimaraner. I guess she was on the upper end of the size for M. So I bought a pair of Large to put on the front legs and kept 2 M for the back legs.
