5 Things to Do With Your Pet this Fall

5 Things to Do With Your Pet this Fall

The past year and a half hasn’t been easy for any of us, but as states open up we’re looking forward to fall themed activities that are pet friendly! So dress your dog in their WagWellies and puffer vest, and add a few of these to your fall bucket list!

1. Apple/Pumpkin Picking

Betcha hadn’t thought of this one. Apple picking and frolicking through pumpkin patches is a quintessential autumn activity. Find your way through the corn maze together and gather up some treats for the both of you. A few bites of apple can be a nutritious and delicious treat for your pup, (just be sure they don’t ingest the core or seeds.)

And of course, don’t forget the fall-themed photoshoot!

2. Costume Party

Asking for a friend, is there anything cuter than a pet in costume? The answer is… probably not. Dog costumes have come a long way from the classic hotdog silhouette, now you can find costumes inspired by your favorite pop culture, movie star, book, or movie! You can even make custom one if you’re feeling crafty. Not only do they make for great photoshoot items, but your pup will be the center of attention at any spooky-themed gala.

3. Leaf Jumping

This one you can do from your own yard, it just involves a little yard work but here us out... You conquer two birds with one stone with this idea, getting your chores done and having fun while you’re at it. When the leaves start to fall, rake them into a pile and enjoy watching your dog bulldoze right through them time after time. You might even be inspired by them to do a few runs of your own!

4. Nature Hike

This one you can do during most every single season if you’re well prepared and researched on the specifics of hiking each season, but there’s something special about transition season hikes. The weather is nearly perfect, not too hot and not too cold, the bugs are starting to go dormant, and nature is changing before our very eyes. There’s a certain peace and beauty that accompanies fall hikes that can renew a trail for you. Just remember to abide by any trail rules with your dog!

5. Leaf peeping

This one is very budget friendly. Leaf peeping is the informal name for watching the leaves as they turn in autumn. Every year a lot of people find joy in taking a ride to watch and observe the beautiful changing foliage. It can be relaxing and energizing in a way that we haven’t been able to indulge in during the pandemic.

These are just some examples of the plethora of fun things to do with your pup this upcoming fall season. Whatever activity you choose to do, your furry friend will be happiest just spending time with you.
